BMI has been used for decades as a quick health screening tool. It is simple, fast, and widely recognized. But simplicity comes at a cost. BMI does not measure what truly determines metabolic health or long-term aging outcomes.

What BMI Actually Measures

Higher visceral fat is associated with:

- Increased mortality risk
Weight alone cannot communicate these distinctions. A scale number does not reveal whether your metabolism is supported or strained.
The Shift From Weight Loss to Body Recomposition
Modern health strategies increasingly focus on body recomposition rather than weight loss alone. The goal is not simply to lose pounds, but to improve the quality of those pounds.
